Finalmente cheguei na Terra Brasil Turismo, em Belo Horizonte!

Depois de 31 dias maravilhosos a viagem chegou ao fim...

No Ultimo dia da viagem fomos para Angra dos Reis, onde fizemos um incrível passeio de saveiro. À noite dançamos e nos emocionamos no nosso Luau de despedida! Os desembarques ocorreram da forma planejada, e todos os intercambistas já estão em casa ou a caminho de casa.

A viagem foi ótima. Gostaria de fazer um agradecimento muito especial à nossa coordenação. Dri, Fê e Carol, vocês foram fantásticas. Meus agradecimentos também aos QUERIDISSIMOS chaperones César e Eliane, do distrito 4780: muito obrigada novamente por TUDO!! Obrigada também ao Doutor Marcos Vinícius, que cuidou dos meninos!!

Good Afternoon!

I am finally at Terra Brasil Turismo office, in Belo Horizonte.

After 31 wonderful days the trip is over…

The last day of the trip we went to Angra dos Reis, where we took part in a boat adventure. At night we danced and enjoyed our farewell party, with a Tropical Luau! All disembarks happened as planed and the students are already at home or on their way home.

The trip was great. I would like to thank a lot our coordinators: Dri, Fê and Carol: you were fantastic! I also want to than our LOVELY chaperone couple from district 4780 César and Eliane: thank you again for all the support. Thanks also to our Doctor Marcos Vinícius, who took care of the students.

Rio de Janeiro - Marvelous city!!

Boa Noite!

Estamos na cidade mais esperada pela maioria dos intercambistas: RIO DE JANEIRO. Conhecida como Cidade Maravilhosa, o Rio é a capital do Samba e do Carnaval!

Chegamos aqui na tarde de Domingo. Como nosso hotel fica em Copacabana, os estudantes aproveitaram para conhecer uma das praias mais famosas do mundo!! A noite comemos um delicioso rodízio de pizza e depois fomos descansar.

Ontem pela manhã, a maioria dos intercambistas optou por fazer o tour opcional para a Favela da Rocinha: foi muito interessante conhecer de perto a realidade de muitos brasileiros. À tarde visitamos o Sambódromo, onde acontece o desfile das escolas de samba, que já está quase todo montado para o carnaval 2011. Em seguida, fomos para a Barra da Tijuca, onde jantamos em uma das melhores churrascarias do Rio de Janeiro e logo após partimos para o Hard Rock Café, onde todos fizeram muitas compras e FESTA!! Reservamos uma área VIP do Hard Rock Café e tivemos uma festa com direito a DJ e refrigerante e água liberados a noite toda! Dançamos muito e chegamos a nosso hotel quase 2 da manhã. Hoje visitamos o Pão de Açúcar e o Corcovado: os meninos ficaram maravilhados com a beleza dessa cidade vista do ponto mais alto!!

Amanhã cedo partimos para Angra dos Reis, última cidade do roteiro, onde faremos um incrível passeio de saveiro pelas paradisíacas ilhas com águas calmas e transparentes. À noite, desfrutaremos de um inesquecível Luau de despedida!

Good Evening!

We are in the most awaited city of the trip for the majority of the exchange students: Rio de Janeiro. Known as the Marvelous City, Rio is the capital of Samba and Carnival.

We arrived here Sunday afternoon! Since our hotel is located at the famous Copacabana neighborhood, as soon as we arrived here, the students went for a walk to know one of the most famous beaches in the world!! At night, we went to an all you can eat pizza restaurant, and the students found it delicious!! After dinner we went back to our hotel to rest. Yesterday morning almost everybody went to the Favela Tour (a visit to Rocinha slum): it was very interesting to get to know the reality of lots of Brazilians. In the afternoon we visited Sambódromo, where the famous Brazilian carnival takes place. Sambódromo is almost ready for the Carnival 2011 and the students had the chance to rent some costumes and try some samba steps over there! In the end of the afternoon we went to Barra da Tijuca, where we had dinner at one of the best Brazilian barbecue restaurant in the city. Right after we drove to the Hard Rock Café, where every one shopped a lot and enjoyed the store and… PARTY!!! We had reservations for a VIP area in the Hard Rock Café to have a party with DJ, soda and water included all night long! We danced a lot and went back to the hotel almost 2am!!

Today we went to the Sugar Loaf and to Corcovado hill: the students were amazed with the perfect view from the highest places of Rio.

Tomorrow morning we leave to Angra dos Reis, the last city of the trip, where we will enjoy an incredible boat adventure through the tropical islands with calm and transparent water. At night we will have our farewell party, a Tropical Luau only for the students!!!

Porto Seguro!!

Bom dia ensolarado!!!!

Escrevo agora de Porto Seguro, última cidade que visitaremos da região Nordeste do Brasil: a viagem está quase no fim!!
Chegamos aqui na quinta-feira à noite, jantamos e já fomos para uma festa!!! As festas aqui em Porto Seguro são muito organizadas: cada noite é festa em um lugar só, sendo assim esse lugar fica mais cheio e muito animado! Fomos a um lugar chamado To a Toa, que é uma casa de show e que de dia funciona como barraca de praia. Todos se divertiram e dançaram muito!!! Chegamos a nosso hotel quase 3 horas da manhã muito cansados!!
Ontem pela manhã fomos ao Axé Moi, um centro de lazer famoso aqui em Porto Seguro. À Tarde fizemos o city tour pela cidade Alta, que é a primeira cidade brasileira. Depois partimos para Santa Cruz de Cabrália, onde foi celebrada a primeira missa do Brasil.
Partimos daqui a pouquinho para Vitória, no Espírito Santo aonde vamos apenas fazer um pernoite técnico e seguir no dia seguinte para o tão esperado Rio de Janeiro!!!!

Good SUNNY Morning!!

I write now from Porto Seguro, the last city in the northeast region we are going to visit: the northeast trip is really almost at the end…
We arrived here Thursday night. We had dinner at the hotel and went to a party!!! The parties here in Porto Seguro are really organized: each night there is a 1 party in one of the many clubs, making every party the most full and animated possible. We went to a place called To a Toa, a club that during the day works as a beach kiosk. Everybody had lots of fun and danced a lot. We returned to the hotel almost 3 am and everyone was extremely tired.
Yesterday morning we visited a bar called Axé Moi, a type of kiosk on the beach very famous in Brasil. In the afternoon we made a city tour at Cidade Alta, which was the first city of Brazil. Then we went to Santa Cruz De Cabrália.
In few minutes we’re going to Vitória, in Espírito Santo state, where we’ll stay only for the night, because we will leave for the SO EXPECTED Rio de Janeiro early the following morning.

Salvador!!!!!!!!!

SORRIA: VOCÊ ESTÁ NA BAHIA!! / SMILE: YOU ARE AT BAHIA!!

Olá!!!!!!

Sorria, você está na Bahia!!! Estamos em Salvador, capital da Bahia!!!
Nossos dias em Salvador foram poucos, porém deliciosos. Chegamos aqui na terça feira à tarde, após passarmos a manhã na Praia do Forte, onde visitamos o Projeto TAMAR e passeamos em sua charmosa vila.
À noite jantamos no Mc Donalds, o que foi muito comemorado pelos intercambistas!
Ontem tivemos um dia dedicado à linda capital baiana. Fizemos um tour histórico pelos pontos turísticos mais importantes, como Igreja de Nosso Senhor do Bonfim, Mercado Modelo, Elevador Lacerda, Igreja São Francisco de Assis e o Centro Histórico do Pelourinho. À noite, os estudantes vibraram com o espetáculo do Balé Folclórico da Bahia (www.balefolcloricodabahia.com.br), considerado por eles um dos melhores programas culturais de toda a viagem.
Hoje partimos para Porto Seguro, cidade das festas e diversão, de onde enviarei mais notícias.

Good Morning!!!

SMILE, you are in Bahia!!! Here we are in Salvador, capital of Bahia state!
We stayed few days in Salvador, but these days were delicious. We arrived here on Tuesday afternoon, after spending the day at Forte Beach, where we visited TAMAR Project (to protect sea turtles) and its nice village. At night we went to Mc Donald’s to have dinner, and the students were really happy because of this!!
Yesterday our day was dedicated to this beautiful and historical city. We had a historical tour visiting the most important sites as Senhor do Bonfim Church, Lacerda Elevator, São Francisco de Assis Church and Pelourinho Historical Center.
At night the students watched a great spectacle, considered by them one of the best cultural program of the entire trip: the “Bale Folclórico da Bahia (www.balefolcloricodabahia.com.br)!
Today we are going to Porto Seguro, the party city, and from where I will send more news.

Recife - Veneza Brasileira / Brazilian Venice

Boa Noite a todos os seguidores do Blog!!

Já estamos em Pernambuco!!! O tempo passa depressa e estamos quase na reta final da nossa viagem ao Nordeste.
Chegamos aqui em Recife ontem na hora do almoço, depois de uma rápida viagem desde Natal. Almoçamos em nosso hotel e saímos para Brasília Teimosa, uma comunidade carente da cidade de Recife, mas que é um exemplo de luta do povo nordestino. Tivemos uma agradável conversa com a líder comunitária, Sra. Zezé, e os estudantes conheceram as crianças do bairro, deram presentes e lembranças de seus países e lembrancinhas que eles compraram em Natal e aqui mesmo em Recife: foi muito proveitoso!!
À noite, tivemos o Show de Talentos: foi um SUCESSO!! Foram mais de 15 apresentações, musicas e danças típicas e muitas brincadeiras: foi uma noite bem especial!
Hoje acordamos cedo e seguimos até Olinda, onde fizemos um tour por esta bela e vibrante cidade. Almoçamos em um delicioso restaurante e na parte da tarde saímos para um citytour pela Veneza Brasileira, como o Recife é conhecido. Visitamos o Castelo de Ricardo Brennand e um pouco do Recife Antigo.
Terminamos o nosso domingo no Recife Shopping, o segundo maior shopping center do Brasil.
Amanhã cedo vamos partir para Porto de Galinhas, uma das mais lindas praias do Nordeste, à uma hora daqui.
No final da tarde, seguiremos para Salvador, BA, mas antes faremos um pernoite técnico em Aracaju para descansarmos, pois a viagem é muito longa até Salvador.

Good night all Blog followers!!

Today, I write from Pernambuco!!!! Time is running out and we are almost at the end of our Summer Trip.
We arrived here in Recife yesterday, at lunch time, after a quick trip from Natal.
Had lunch at the hotel and in the afternoon, we went to Brasilia Teimosa, a destitute community of Recife, but an example of nordestino’s (people who lives in the Northeast region of Brazil) fight for better conditions of life. After a chat with one of the community leaders (Mrs Zezé), the students were introduced to some children and could give to them gifts and souvenirs from their countries and also souvenirs that they bought here at the northeast trip: the visit was really great!!
The same day at noght we had the expected Talent show , and It was a totally SUCCESS!! We had more than 15 presentations, with lots of cultural songs and dances and lots of jokes: it was a really great night!
Today we visited Olinda, a really nice town where we had very pleasant moments. We had lunch at a delicious restaurant and then we went out to do a citytour through Recife, know as the Brazilian Venice. We visited Ricardo Brennand Institute (Castle) and a little of Old Recife.
We finished our day at Recife Shopping Mall, the second biggest one of Brasil.
We’re going tomorrow really early to Porto de Galinhas Beach, one of the nicest of the Northeast and one hour from here.
In the afternoon, we will travel to Salvador, BA. But before arriving, we will stop in Aracaju to spend the night, because the trip is too long up to the Bahia’s capital.
From there, I will send more news.

Natal/RN

Bom Dia!

Hoje escrevo do Rio Grande do Norte: estamos em Natal!
Chegamos aqui quinta-feira no início da tarde. Almoçamos e viemos diretamente para o nosso hotel!
À noite saímos para jantar em um shopping e logo após tivemos uma noite muito gostosa na beira da praia: um luau, com frutas tropicais, musica e muita dança!!Tivemos uma grande confraternização! Comemoramos também os aniversários da viagem: Danielle, Jill, Petra, Leonie, Carol, Kate, Simone, Sasha, Elisabeth, Victor, Phoebe, Jirateep e Trinidad e comemos um delicioso bolo de chocolate com Morango!!!!
Ontem acordamos por volta de 8 da manhã e às 9 e meia já estávamos saindo para conhecer o maior Cajueiro do mundo, em Pirangi do Norte. Em seguida curtimos bastante mais um dia de praia. A tarde, já de volta, tivemos tempo livre para ensaiar para o tão esperado show de talentos que vai ser hoje a noite, já em Recife!!!
Daqui a pouco seguiremos para Recife, e de lá, mando mais notícias.

Good Morning!!

Today, I write from Rio Grande do Norte: here we are, in Natal, capital city of the state .
We arrived here on Thursday, in the beginning of the afternoon. We had lunch and came straight to our hotel. At night, after dinner, we had an unforgettable evening by the sea: a beach party with tropical fruits, music and a lot of dancing! We had a great party and we celebrate the Danielle, Jill, Petra, Leonie, Carol, Kate, Simone, Sasha, Elisabeth, Victor, Phoebe, Jirateep and Trinidad! We ate a delicious chocolate and strawberry cake!!
Yesterday we woke up at 8 in the morning and at 9:30 we went out to visit the biggest cashew tree in the world, “Cajueiro de Pirangi”. After we stayed at Pirangi beach to enjoy the sun! In the afternoon, back to the hotel, we had free time to practice the numbers for the so much expected Talent Show, which will happen today (already in Recife)!!!
In a bit, right after breakfast, we will travel to Recife, from where I will send more news.

Bons Momentos/Great times

Fortaleza - Canoa Quebrada

Boa Noite!!!

Já faz um tempinho que não escrevo no blog...os dias foram bastante corridos!!
Estamos agora em Canoa Quebrada, antiga vila hippie que fica a 3 horas de Fortaleza. Ahhh Fortaleza...já estamos com saudade. Nossos passeios lá foram tão maravilhosos que com certeza essa cidade vai ficar na memória de todos. Lá fizemos o emocionante passeio de buggy nas dunas de Cumbuco, passamos o dia no Beach Park, onde todos tiveram a oportunidade (mas para alguns faltou coragem) de descer no mais alto (41 metros, altura de um prédio de 14 andares) toboágua do mundo (o Insano). Fomos também à Festa do Pirata, a segunda-feira mais louca do mundo, além de muitas, muitas compras na feirinha de Meirelles e no Mercado Municipal!
Hoje o dia está chuvoso, então aproveitamos para descansar, pois ainda temos muita viagem pela frente! Amanhã cedo partimos para Natal, capital do estado Rio Grande do Norte, e de lá mando mais notícias.

Good Night!!

It has been a little while that I don’t post anything… we had a lot to do!!
We are now in Canoa Quebrada, 3 hours from Fortaleza. Oh Fortaleza... we already miss it. Our tour there was awesome and this city will be part of our memories forever. We did the Buggy Ride in Cumbuco sand dunes and we spend one day at the Beach Park, where everybody had the chance (the brave ones!) to enjoy the Insano, the biggest water slide in the world (41 meters high, almost a 14 floors building). We also went to the Pirate Party, the craziest Monday in the world and we went shopping, a lot of shopping at Meirelles fair and the Municipal market!
Today is raining, so we decided to rest a little…we still have a long way ahead! Tomorrow morning we will continue our journey to Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte state. From there, I’ll send more news!

Maceió!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bom Dia!!

Escrevo diretamente de Maceió, a primeira praia que visitamos nessa longa viagem!! Hoje faz mais um ensolarado e quente dia aqui no Nordeste do Brasil!
Os dias aqui foram deliciosos! No dia que chegamos, visitamos as Piscinas Naturais de Pajuçara, lindíssima praia onde também estamos hospedados!! À noite, fomos dançar forró no tradicional Lampião, uma casa de show a beira-mar, na Praia da Ponta Verde: todos mostraram o que aprenderam em nossa aula em Brasília!!
Ontem pela manhã, acordamos cedo e seguimos até a Barra de São Miguel, onde pegamos um barco e atravessamos para a MARAVILHOSA praia do Gunga, uma das mais lindas de todo o Nordeste. Após muita dança e diversão no barco, chegamos e ficamos lá por mais de 4 horas: todos nadaram e aproveitaram bastante!!! Fomos depois para a Feirinha do Pontal, com um belo artesanato, e rendas.
Hoje, como a manhã é livre, a maioria aproveita para dormir até um pouco mais tarde, enquanto outros estão na piscina curtindo a ultima manhã em Maceió!
Partiremos logo após o almoço para Fortaleza, no Ceará, e de lá mando mais notícias.

Good Morning!!

I write now from Maceió, first beach of the trip!! Today is another sunny and hot day here at the Northeast of Brazil!!
The days here were great. We arrived here on Thursday, and went straight to visit Pajuçara Natural pools. Pajuçara is a marvelous beach here, where we are also staying. At night we danced forró at Lampião, a traditional forró house, in front of the sea. The students showed what they learned at the Forró Class in Brasilia!!
Yesterday morning, we woke up early and went to Barra de São Miguel where we took a boat to cross to Gunga Beach, one of the most PERFECT of the Northeast. After a lot of dance and fun at the boat, we arrived and stayed there for more than four hours: the students swam and enjoyed a lot! After, we went to get to know the Pontal Fair, famous for its beautiful handicraft.
At this moment, as it is a free morning, some students are sleeping and others enjoying the hotel swimming pool.
After lunch, we’re going to Fortaleza, in Ceará state and from there I’ll send more news!

Lençóis - Chapada Diamantina!!!

Bom Dia!!

Escrevo agora de Lençóis, no parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, na Bahia!! No caminho de Brasília para cá, paramos em uma cidade chamada Ibotirama, aqui na Bahia, cidade cortada pelo Rio São Francisco e bem próxima daqui.
Dormimos lá e segunda cedo já estávamos de saída para o nosso primeiro dia de passeios na Chapada: A fazenda Pratinha e a gruta Lapa Doce. Dividimos os grupos entre as grutas, assim deu tempo de sobra de todos fazerem tudo com calma!
Os estudantes divertiram-se bastante na tirolesa, fazendo snorkelling e nadando na Pratinha e ficaram encantados com as formações da Lapa Doce. No final da tarde, chegamos ao nosso maravilhoso hotel 5 estrelas na cidade de Lençóis: todos aproveitaram para nadar e aproveitar a infra-estrutura desse delicioso hotel! À noite, após o jantar e a reunião, tivemos uma apresentação de capoeira com mais de 30 capoeiristas. Todos simplesmente adoraram!
Os passeios aqui foram bem cansativos. Ontem subimos ate o alto do Morro do Pai Inácio, nadamos no Rio Mucugezinho e hoje cedo nos esbaldamos no escorregador natural: todos adoraram!!
Estamos bem cansados de todas as caminhadas e passeios que fizemos aqui, mas FOI MUITO BOM!!!
Estamos de saída agora para Maceió, a primeira praia da viagem: todos estão MUITO ANIMADOS!! Porém, só vamos chegar lá amanhã, pois hoje vamos fazer um pernoite técnico em Aracaju, para descansar e evitar estradas à noite, para a maior segurança do grupo!

Good morning!!

I write now from Lençóis, at Chapada Diamantina National Park, in Bahia state! On our way here, we stopped to spend the night and rest at a city called Ibotirama, also in Bahia state. Monday morning, we went to our first day of tours at Chapada Diamantina: Pratinha farm and Lapa Doce cave. We divided the group in two, so everyone had a lot of time to enjoy each tour.
The students had lot of fun at Pratinha making snorkeling and zip line, and got impressed with the beauty and exuberance of the cave’s formations at Lapa Doce.
In the afternoon, we arrived at our five stars hotel in Lençóis: the students enjoyed the free time to swim, and enjoy the hotel’s infrastructure! At night, after dinner and meeting, a surprise was waiting for them: a very special capoeira presentation!! More than 30 participants! Capoeira is a typical mixture of dance and fight left from the African slaves to the Brazilian culture and it’s really strong at Bahia state! Everyone just loved it!
The tours here were really tiring!! Yesterday we went to the top of Pai Inácio hill, swam at Mucugezinho River and today everyone had a blast at the Natural slide: the students just loved it!!
We are really tired because of all trekking we made here: but IT WAS AWESOME!!
In a bit, we will continue our journey to Maceió, the first beach of the trip!! Everyone is really excited about it!! We will arrive there just tomorrow, because today we will stop at a city called Aracaju, to rest and avoid driving at night, thinking about the safety of the group!
